New QOF Calculator for Scotland

MSD Informatics was awarded the contract in March 2010 by the Common Services Agency in Scotland to provide the successor to QMAS for their centralised reporting calculation and payment tool to support the Quality and Outcomes Framework in Scotland.

The QOF Calculator will be available to GP practices, Community Health Partnerships and Health Boards from Q2 2010 and will be used to calculate payments for the 2010-2011 financial year onwards.

MSD Informatics now have national contracts to provide QOF payment calculators and analysis tools for Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Scotland

Medicines' Management

The Medicines Management Module assists healthcare professionals identify patients who are not being optimally treated for their conditions. It will list patients who are currently taking one or more classes of drugs and identify any gaps in their prescriptions. Once those patients have been identified the software will drill down and examine their medication regimes in more detail and also display investigations such as cholesterol or blood pressure and when a diagnosis was recorded. Using the software it will be possible to look at specific medications and see if patients are reaching their targets. The targets can be set to highlight patients outside those recommended by QOF or NICE or local values.

Pandemic Manager

Pandemic Manager is a new pandemic monitoring service which provides the PCT with daily reporting and thus a real-time picture for the spread of influenza type illness. The module can be applied to a range of monitoring services such as the uptake of childhood immunisations across the PCT for example.

Clinical Accuracy

With patient data now being up-loaded to the shared Summary Care Records it is vitally important that data is accurate, our new Clinical Accuracy Module automatically filters patient data within the GP practice and reports inaccuracies such as invalid Read codes, dates and NHS Numbers etc. The practice can easily view patients with inaccuracies in their clinical data and make appropriate changes in their clinical notes
